Award a Design Contract to Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP, for Manvell Road SE Drainage Improvements. Approved in 2022 CIP

EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
Manvell Road SE has significant drainage issues between Park Street and Glyndon Street SE. This project mitigates these issues by designing approximately 700 linear feet of concrete curb and gutter along the west side of Manvell Road SE and approximately 400 linear feet of concrete curb and gutter along the east side of Manvell Road SE and will include approximately 90 feet of storm sewer pipe and additional curb inlets.
The Department of Public Works requests approval to use Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP to provide engineering services for survey and design of this project utilizing contract RFP 19-01 in the amount of $118,582.25, which includes contingencies for easement plats and utility test holes totaling $30,339.53.
Departmental Recommendation: Approve design contract.
Finance Recommendation: Recommend approval.
Purchasing Recommendation: Recommend approval.
Town Attorney Recommendation: The Town has a contract with Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP to provide engineering services and the Town Council may approve proposed expenditure of funds for the proposed project in its discretion.
Town Manager's Recommendation: I recommend the Town Council award the design contract to Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP, as presented.
