Title
Vienna Annex Long-Term Use Study: Future of Existing Annex Building.
Body
EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
Based on the May 8, 2023 Council conference session, Kimmel Bogrette Architecture & Kimley Horn (project team) and Council determined that the existing Annex has two viable outcomes.
* The first option (Option 1) is to demolish the entire structure.
* The second option (Option 2A and 2B) is to demolish the sanctuary and retain and renovate the gymnasium and supporting spaces.
The project team provided two rough construction estimates for retaining only the gym.
A detailed memo is included with the staff report along with floor plan diagrams showing the extent of the partial demo options.
A decision needs to be made on the future of the Annex as the building is at the end of its useful life. The project team is requesting the Town Council select the option they prefer - Option 1, Option 2A, Option 2B or Option 3. This decision making will:
* Provide direction to the project team on how to proceed with the existing Annex.
* Inform decision making to the Town's budget committee and Council when considering various options for long-term use as part of the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) in September. This will begin the discussion for long-term use.
