1/24/22 - Council approved Church Street Streetscape Improvements with ARPA funding.
1/24/22 - Council approved Maple Avenue Streetscape Improvements with CIP funding.
EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
The Vienna Department of Parks and Recreation requests approval to spend $600,000 utilizing RFP 23-26 to provide design and vegetation installation of the approximately:
* 81 landscape planters on Maple Avenue located between East Street and 213 Maple Ave. W on both sides of the street.
* 46 landscape planters on Church Street located between Mill Street, NE and Lawyers Road, NW on both sides of the street.
The Maple Avenue & Church Street Streetscape Project details will be posted on the Town's website. All impacted businesses and residents will receive notifications with additional information and points of contact before plant removal and installation begins. A public engagement session will be held at the community center to share the landscape design options, answer questions, gather feedback and identify solutions that may address the concerns identified. Removal and planting are anticipated to begin in June 2023 with completion end of July 2023.
