EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
The Department of Parks and Recreation requests to award RFP 20-04 to Affordable Lawn Sprinklers for installation of an underground commercial irrigation system at the Vienna Community Center for the purpose of irrigating designated turf and shrub areas around the building and the parking lot islands. Expenses will be funded with 2018 bond funds.
Proposals were received from four (4) vendors for the subject RFP. As a result of the three evaluation committee members’ review, Affordable Lawn Sprinklers and Lighting was determined to be the top-ranked vendor, with a cost proposal of $43,500. Affordable Lawn Sprinklers has been determined to be a responsive and responsible bidder and has met the RFP specifications.
Departmental Recommendation: Recommend approval.
Finance Recommendation: Recommend approval.
Purchasing Recommendation: Recommend approval.
Town Attorney Recommendation: The Town has competitively bid the proposed irrigation project, and Town Council may award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder in its discretion.
Town Manager's Recommendation: I recommend the Town Council award an RFP to Affordable Lawn Sprinklers for installation of an irrigations system at the Vienna Community Center, as presented.
